Vivekananda Journal of Research

Publication Ethics and Publication Malpractice Statement

Editors' responsibilities

Publication decisions
Articles submitted to the Vivekananda Journal of Research (VJR) are subject to review by the editor who decides which ones will be published. In evaluating manuscripts, the editor will disregard an author’s race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, cultural background, nationality, or political viewpoint. A paper’s acceptance will be based on its importance, its inventiveness, its clearness, and its legitimacy. Also considered will be its relevance to the journal’s scope.

Confidentiality
There should be no disclosure of manuscript information by the editor or any editorial staff except to the corresponding author, reviewers, other editorial advisers, and the publisher.

Disclosure and conflicts of interest Unpublished materials should not used by the editorial board or editor without the author’s express written consent.

Reviewers' responsibilities

Contribution to editorial decisions
Peer-reviews not only help the editor and editorial board make editing decisions, but may also help the author improve their submissions as well.
Promptness
Referees who are ineligible to review the manuscript are requested to notify the editor and withdraw from the review process if they are not trained to review the research reported in the manuscript.
Confidentiality manuscripts that have been submitted for review must be treated as confidential documents.
Standards of objectivity in conducting reviews objectively are crucial, and VJR strongly opposes the personal criticism of any author. It is imperative that referees support their opinions with logical arguments.
Acknowledgment of sources
Reviewers should identify citation anomalies in submitted articles and indicate whether ideas or arguments accessed from other publications are attended by the corresponding source. Reviewers will intimate the editor of any considerable likeness or connection between the manuscript under consideration and any other published paper.
Disclosure and conflict of interest
information or ideas gained through peer review must be kept private and not used for personal benefit. Reviewers should not consider manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from viable, cooperative, or other associations or influences with any of the authors, companies, or institutions associated with the papers.
Authors’ duties Reporting standards
Authors are required to submit original articles and report accurate results of the work executed as well as an objective argument of its implication. Fundamental data should be precisely presented in the paper. A paper should contain adequate detail and references to license others to repeat the work at a contextual level. Fraudulent or significantly erroneous reports of work constitute unethical behavior and are unequivocally considered improper.
Data access and retention Authors could be asked to deliver the elementary data of their study together with the paper for editorial review and should be prepared to make the data overtly accessible.
Originality, plagiarism, and acknowledgment of Sources Authors will submit only completely original works, and will suitably cite or quote the work and/or words of others. Publications that have been important in defining the nature of the stated work should also be mentioned.
Multiple, redundant, or concurrent publications in general, papers principally relating to identical research should not be published in more than one journal. Submitting the same paper to more than one journal institutes unethical publishing behavior and is considered improper.
Previously published manuscripts as copyrighted material elsewhere cannot be published. In addition, manuscripts under review by the journal should not be resubmitted to other copyrighted publications.
Authorship of the paper
Authorship should be limited to those who have made a noteworthy involvement to the commencement, strategy, implementation, or explanation of the stated study. All those who have made substantial contributions should be registered as co-authors. The corresponding author ensures that all contributory co-authors and no uninvolved persons are included in the author list. The corresponding author will also verify that all co-authors have approved the final version of the paper and have agreed to its submission for publication.
Disclosure and conflicts of interest, All authors should include a declaration disclosing any monetary or other applicable conflicts of interest that may be interpreted to impact the consequences or interpretation of their manuscript. All sources of economic support for the project should be divulged.
Fundamental errors in published works When an author notices a significant fault or imprecision in his/her own published work, it is the author’s compulsion to punctually notify the journal editor or publisher and to collaborate with the editor to withdraw or correct the paper.

Ethical Policy

To avoid the contingency of research-related malpractices, the Vivekananda Journal of Research(ISSN: 2319-8702) follows strict ethical guidelines. An article submitted for publication should be an original scholarly work, not published elsewhere. Fabrication, falsification, or misrepresentation of research findings are considered inappropriate under all circumstances.

Acknowledgement

All contributing authors must acknowledge and cite complete academic/non-academic resources accessed for their paper. Papers must include names of authors, co-authors and acknowledge all those who have contributed to it significantly.

Plagiarism

Plagiarism, including reproducing text from other published papers/texts or producing more than one text with similar or synonymous content by the same author, is not accepted. VJR follows a zero-tolerance policy for plagiarism or plagiarized text.

Peer Review

At VJR we are committed to prompt review and publication of accepted papers. To maintain a high standard of publication, all submissions undergo a double-blind peer-review process and the decision of the reviewers is regarded as final. The peer-review process is confidential and identities of reviewers are not revealed to authors.
