Ms. Urvashi Datwani, Regional Head, South- Client and Market Development, Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Coaddressed students of 8th and 10th Semester of Vivekandanda Law School (VLS), Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies (VIPS) on the topic ‘Law as a Profession and Making of a Corporate Lawyer : Evolution and Opportunities’ on 4th March, 2017. Ms. Urvashi has experience for over 20 years and having expertise in Public Relations, Global Client Administration, Media Management and Business Development. She is skilled in Corporate law, Corporate Governance, Legal Advice and Legal Research. Ms. Urvashi, through an exhaustive Power Point presentation, deliberated on how to excel in the field of corporate law. She, not only emphasized upon the professional aspects of a prospective corporate lawyer viz., law firms’ expectations, internships, competitions, etc., but also highlighted necessary personal traits like, never say ‘no’ attitude, determination, perseverance, discipline, etc. She also shared her experiences which encouraged VLS students. She also apprised students about the ‘Enguru App’ which can help the students to excel in public communication and legal awareness. The immensely informative session was followed by an interactive session between the guests and students. The talk was lucid and well received by all the particpants. The talk ended with words of gratitude expressed by Prof. (Dr.) Rashmi Salpekar, Dean, VLS, on behalf of students and faculty members of VLS Placement Society. She also thanked Management support for organising this lecture. This was the first step towards a brighter connection of VLS, VIPS with one of India’s biggest Law Firm, Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co., which will grow and develop with each successive year. The lecture was coordinated by Placement Committee, VLS. Ms Divya Sugandh, student of VIII semester compared the programme efficiently.
