Professor-in-charge of Campus Law Center, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi on Judicial Interpretation of Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005 (DV Act, 2005)

A lecture on ‘Judicial Interpretation of Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005 (DV Act, 2005)’ was delivered by Prof (Dr) Usha Tandon, Professor-in-charge of Campus Law Centre, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi on 13th February, 2017. The lecture witnessed participation of students of all the semesters, particularly participants of VLS Intra Debate Competition, as it was planned to be held on 15th February, 2017 on the topic ‘Whether the judicial interpretation of Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005 is vulnerable to its abuse?.’ Prof. Tandon acquainted the students as to both pros and cons of the interpretations of several judgments under the (DV Act, 2005) and enlightened the students with the practicalities of Domestic Violence. It turned out to be a highly interactive session. The talk was lucid and well received by VLS students. The lecture ended with words of gratitude expressed by Professor (Dr.) Rashmi Salpekar, Dean, VLS. The lecture was coordinated by Mr Sunil Aarya and Dr Deepa Kaushik, VLS Debate Committee.
