VIPS INTERNATIONAL MUN 2014

Finally, the most awaited event; VIPS INTERNATIONAL MUN 2014 in collaboration with United Nations Information Centre for India and Bhutan and in association with the World Lung Foundation, Lawctopus as an online media partner, Lex Witness as magazine partner and IALM as academic partner saw the light of the day. The opening ceremony began with the welcoming of the esteemed Guests of Honor, Dr. Kayla Laserson, Country director, Division of global health protection, CDC Delhi and Mr. David Mees, Counsellor for cultural affairs, US Embassy.

Inauguration of the New Academic Year 2013-2014

On August 7, 2013, Justice Markandey Katju, Chairman of Press Council of India, visited VIPS to address students on Ancient Indian Jurisprudence. The talk compared jurisprudence in ancient India with the modern approach, scrutinizing some of the major modern theories. This was followed by a question-and-answer session, in which Justice Katju answered students’ queries related to Law and Journalism.

Prof. M.P.Singh,Chancellor Haryana Central University and Chairman Delhi Judicial Academy,Delhi, shared words of wisdom and the treasure of his experience with Law students.

It gives us immense pleasure to share the experience of the Farewell Organized by Vivekananda Law School on Tuesday, 13th May, 2014 on the 6th floor hall to bid adieu to the outgoing students of 2009-2014 batch with great love and enthusiasm.

The Function began with a floral welcome of our esteemed Executive Director, VLS, Prof. V. L. Mony, and Prof. Dr. Rajni Malhotra Dhingra, Dean, VLS. Professors started with a wonderful speech motivating all the students to achieve greater heights and to make a mark in the legal profession.

Although the party carried a tinge of sadness, the students had fun as they enjoyed every moment with their best friends. A photo shoot took place at 12 PM in Block-A. The event started at 12:30 PM with the Anchors giving a warm welcome to the seniors. The cultural event started with a Flash Mob Dance which ended on a high note with the seniors getting highly entertained. Then followed a soulful rendition of songs by the Rock Band, a Slide show depicting pictorial memories of the final year students in college was next in line. Thereafter Title’s were given to the seniors. After the distribution of Titles everybody preceded for Lunch .The cultural program ended with a high voltage Retro Dance which kick-started the Jam session. The Jam Session saw all the seniors dancing to the beats of DJ Happy. The day ended on a nostalgic note at 5 PM. The seniors were happy by the event and thanked teachers and students for the Farewell.

New developments proposed under the MoU are:

Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)

A Historic MoU signed between National Law School of India University (NLSIU) and Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies (VIPS)

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bangalore, and Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies (VIPS). The agreement aims at greater cooperation in academic and cultural activities, leading to new avenues in research and curriculum development.

The chief guest on the occasion was Prof. R. Venkata Rao, Vice Chancellor, NLSIU.

VIPS, which enjoys the reputation of being a premier Law school in North India, seeks to expand intellectual capital and work hand-in-hand with NLSIU to further research and placement efforts. The MoU at VIPS was signed by Prof. R. Venkata Rao, Vice Chancellor, NLSIU, and Dr. S. C. Vats, Chairman, VIPS, on behalf of the respective institutions.

  • Full time, regular as well as optional courses taught at these institutes will be offered to the students.
  • PhD candidates in interdisciplinary areas of research from VIPS shall work under the supervision of the faculty members of NLSIU.
  • Collaborative research work will be undertaken.
  • Exchange of periodicals, journals etc, shall be made possible through the use of E- Library.
  • Mutual cooperation will be sought in the field of student’s placement and thesis research work.
  • Joint National and International Conferences on Law and Social Sciences will be organized.
  • Faculty exchange programmes will be held.
  • Student exchange programmes will be held.

For prospective Law students in Delhi/NCR, this will serve as the ideal platform to benefit from the rich experience of NLSIU, Bangalore.

Farewell 2008-13 Batch!

Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies Organized a farewell party on 20 May, 2013 in the college CIA hall to bid adieu to the outgoing students of 2008-2013 batch with great enthusiasm and of course nostalgia.

Although the party carried a tinge of sadness, the students had fun as they enjoyed every moment with their best friends.
