It is re-emphasised that there is 10 marks credit for attendance. A law graduate is entitled to be enrolled by Bar Council of India only and only if he produces a certificate from the concerned Institute that he has attended the requisite number of classes. In view of the above, all students are required to ensure themselves in their own interest that they have attended the requisite number of classes as the University and the Bar Council of India are very strict in enforcing the abovesaid attendance requirement norms. Bawa Director ****************************************** Subject : Dissertation (X Sem Students) 5/01/2009 Message : Subject Code: LL.B.502 Credits:15 : Marks:100 Students of X Semester are required to write a well researched Dissertation on any given topic and submit the same for evaluation by a Board of Examiners which also include an External Expert in the field. The topic of Dissertation shall be the same as opted by the students for writing the research article (Paper: Legal Research & Writing) in the IX Semester under the same teacher Supervisor. As in depth research is to be done, the dissertation must comprise 120 + pages (excluding preface, index, list of cases, references, annexure etc.) The format of Dissertation, quoting of cases & footnotes as given in the guidelines (which are available on the website www.vips.edu) is to be strictly followed. It may be noted that 10 marks are allocated for attendance. For every attendance recorded by the Supervisor, credit of one mark shall be given. Bawa Director ****************************************** Subject : X Semester-Court Diary (07/01/2009) Message : Subject Code: LL.B.504 Credits: 15 Marks:100 Students of X Sem. are required to do Internship with any experienced Advocate/ Law Firm/ Judge of High Court / Supreme Court for a period of three months during the period January 2009 to April 2009 and maintain a Diary containing detailed day-wise record of the work done by the student. The Dairy shall be evaluated by the Board of Examiners including an External Examiner. Guidelines for preparing Court Dairy (Internship) Get Internship and inform VIPS within a week thereafter. Purchase a Diary (preferably without dates to avoid any confusion) of size approx. 24 cms. X 18 cms. Attend Court cases for atleast 45 days during the period of Internship. Write Court Diary legibly and precisely mentioning the date of appearance, name of the Court, issue/ charge (in criminal case), status of case, next date of hearing and your own observations in the matter. In case you are associated with a law firm, write the entire case history alongwith a well researched opinion on the problem/ issues/ topics assigned to you by the said firm. You are required to work on 25-30 topics. Upon conclusion of Internship get an appropriate certificate from the person with whom you are associated. This certificate shall be a part of your Court Dairy for submission. For any clarification, guidance, contact Ms. Monika Srivastava, Advocate on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday (before Lunch). Last date for final submission of Court Diary (after getting it duly approved from Ms. Monika Srivastava/ Prof. N.S. Bawa) is Friday, 24th April 2009.
